Louela was born November 28, 1935, in Fort Wayne to Joseph and Julia Hausmann.
She graduated from North Side High School. She worked for International Harvester and Fort Wayne Community Schools. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandkids.
A devout Lutheran all her life, Louela was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cleveland, OH, on December 29, 1935. She received confirmation when she was in 8th grade in 1950 at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. She remained a lifelong member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Louela married her loving husband, Larry A. Murphy, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church on October 19, 1963.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Kristine H. (Tom) Lefevers of Beavercreek, OH, Ted R. (Jill) Murphy of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Luke Lefevers, Hanna Lefevers, Holly Lefevers, Ben Murphy, Elise Murphy; a brother, Don J. Hausmann; and a sister, Karen (Cooky) Dalrymple.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Julia Hausmann.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 4-8 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons – Lakeside Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Funeral Service will take place Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1126 S Barr St, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
