Lawrence proudly served his country in the Air Force, and retired from Indiana and Michigan Power Company as a Marketing Director. He is survived by his wife of more than 66 years, Beverly (nee Kraft) Brunke; children, Rob (Lori) Brunke, and Jill Phillips; daughter-in-law, Ginnie Brunke; grandchildren, Joshua Brunke, Alexa Brunke, and Christy Brunke; and sisters, Marilyn Schultz, and Joyce Lindahl-Wooten. He was also preceded in death by his son, Chris Brunke; sisters, Betty Hoffman, Patricia Hulliberger, and Judy Doring; and brother, Robert "Sonny" Brunke.
Private family services have been held. Burial is in Highland Park Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne.
