Larry J. Rose, 81, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. He was born on September 15, 1942, in Fort Wayne, a son of the late Robert J. and Wilma A. (Gerker) Rose. He worked at General Electric/BAE for 42 years. He was a member at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, as well as the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, collecting stamps and coins, and tinkering. He especially loved spending his time with his grandchildren and going to all their activities. Surviving family include his wife, Sharon D. Rose; children, Kim (David Lane) Weaver, Tammy (Paul) Wildey, and Tom (Kim) Rose; grandchildren, Jenny, Branden (Allison), Jordan, Josh, and Aaron; and a great-grandson, Leo; sisters, Jane (Stan Gustin) Krebs, and Mary (Chris) Needler. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his granddaughter, Alyssa. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne with a rosary at 7:30 pm. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
