LARRY L. CARROLL, went home to be with the Heavenly Father, Monday, July 30, 2012 after an extended illness at Parkview Memorial Hospital with his wife at his side. He was a resident of Fort Wayne since October 2003, being a former resident of LaGrange, Ind. He owned his own business; Carroll Enterprises Inc. publishing the Merchants Magazine for small businesses in the Howe, Shipshewana, LaGrange, Middlebury, Kendallville, Elkhart and Sturgis, Michigan area. He also did advertisements for various restaurants in the Tri-State area. "He loved meeting people through his work and he was the happiest when he was singing for his God." He ministered in music throughout the Tri-State area and through the Midwest. He also did bookings for many groups, the most known were the Northmen. He had beat cancer with God's strength but it came back in the fall of 2008 and hit him once again with its full vengeance in the summer of 2011. "Larry's love of God kept him going and his love for his wife Lois, who cared for him through it all. He will be truly missed by his wife and those lives he touched through song." He graduated from Bluford High School, Bluford, Illinois and was a licensed general class ham radio operator. He served in the Air Force eight years being a sheet metal repairman. He married Lois J. Fox (Briner), October 4, 2003, in Evansville, Indiana at the Faith Nazarene Church by Michael Bell. Larry was born in Bluford, Illinois, the youngest son of Ross W. And Vina (Rudd) Carroll. Surviving are his wife, Lois J.; son in law, Thomas W. Ward; three grandchildren. Ashley, Rebecca and Michael Ward who Larry loved very much. Other survivors include his brother, Ross (Lee) Carroll of Fairfield, Ill.; sister in laws, Avis (Leland) Carroll of Evansville, Virginia (Bill) of Fairfield, Ill. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Vina Caroll; step daughter, Shawn Marie Ward; brothers, Bill and Leland Carroll; and sisters, Phyllis Pepple and Mable Carroll. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Three Rivers Wesleyan Church, 2825 Hillegas Rd., Fort Wayne with viewing one hour prior at the church. Pastor Larry Schmoekel and Chaplain Ellen Rhodes. Visitation is also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 W. Main St., Fort Wayne.
