Dr. Kent Myron Fishel age 80, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 26, 1943 by Maxine Emeline Sowle and Bernard Lincoln Fishel.
Kent became an ordained minister in the Missionary Church in Fort Wayne, IN on September 13, 1979. He went on to receive his Doctorate in 1989 from Luther Rice Seminary. In 1978, Kent founded Discipleship Inc., a nonprofit ministry aimed at motivating students and adults.
In addition, he was also a counselor, speaker, author, track and tennis coach. Kent served as Senior High Camp Dean at Bay Shore Camp for over 40 years.
Kent is survived by his brother Richard and sister-in-law Joyce of San Dimas, CA; a nephew Rick of Pace, FL; great-nephews Chaz (Katie) of Pace, FL and Blake of Hollywood, CA; great-niece Peyton of Hollywood, CA; great-great nephew Kody of Pace, FL; Uncle Lee (Margaret) of Owosso, MI; several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-nephew Brian.
A visitation for Kent will be on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, at Grabill Missionary Church, 13637 State Street, Grabill, IN 46741. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will be taking place on Tuesday, January at Cherry Grove Cemetery, in Clare, MI.
