KENNETH E. VELLIQUETTE, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at Parkview Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1926 in Oak Harbor, Ohio the son of the late Orval and Martha (Rook) Velliquette. He was employed by the V.A. Hospital as a Locksmith and Carpenter for 37 years, and also as a bus driver with the Southwest Allen County Schools for 11 years. He was a member of St. Judes Catholic Church; American Legion of New Haven; and V.F.W. of New Haven. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie (Davis) Velliquette of Fort Wayne; daughter, Susan L. (David) Lee of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Tony (Teresa) Distelrath of Fort Wayne, Laura (J.J.) Pinter of Palmyra, Ind., Tonya (Troy) Worick of Marion, Ind., seven great-grandchildren; and granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Distelrath. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Distelrath. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Father Robert D'Souza officiating. Burial at Catholic Cemetery.
