Kenneth Thompson, 76 of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday June 24th at home surrounded by family. Born in Lansing Michigan, he was the son of the late Kenneth Thompson Sr. and Gladys Crossett Thompson. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Phelps Dodge as a maintenance mechanic. Ken was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with family. He is survived by Lee, his wife of 39 years; sons, Chris (Judy), Jerry (Judy Jones), George Parker, Robert (Shelly) Parker, daughters, Debbie Thompson, Mary Thompson (Bruce A. deceased), Lori Bopp; sisters, Mary Byrd, Shirley Drumm, Jenny Bowen, Deloris Harger (Roy), Dawn Wiles; brothers Jerry Thompson, Bob Wilber, as well as 12 grandchildren, Eric (Danielle) Thompson, Jes Thompson (Thomas Phifer), Cevin Bopp, Joe Bopp, Caleb Jacobson, Kain Boyles, Toby Thompson, Rena Thompson, Tia Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Kaitlin (Trevor) Faull, Dorian Parker; 4 great-grandchildren, Kenneth Allen Thompson, Kaleb Boyles, Noah Turk, and Anna Lake. He was preceded in passing by son Bruce Allen Thompson, brothers Arlington, Gary, George Wilber, and sister Ruth Whyte. Calling will be held from 3 to 5 PM Friday June 28th, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Homes, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne with funeral service to follow immediately.
