Kenneth E. "Ken" Fortney, 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Ken was born on May 31, 1934 in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Leroy and Myrtle (Hawn) Fortney. Ken served in the U.S. Air Force. Ken retired from Magnavox as a Senior Technical Publications Writer. Ken was a member at St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. Ken will be remembered as non-stop sports fan, who enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, Boston Red Sox, IU Basketball, and Penn State. Surviving family include his wife of 67 years, Sara Fortney; daughters, Debra (David) Walton, Cherri (John) Blackman, and Lana Feipel; grandchildren, Alaina Boettger, Kevin Fortney, Stefanie Walton, Ashley Kolbasky, and Chelsea Glade; and 11 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Ivy Minnick; brother, Leroy Fortney; and son-in-law, Michael Feipel. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at noon. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church or Humane Fort Wayne.
