Karen Lee Johnson, 79, passed away November 17, 2024, at Lutheran Life Villages of Pine Valley in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born March 26, 1945, in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Joseph and Geraldine (Hoover) Bragalone.
Karen graduated from South Side High School in 1963.
She was a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant for 28 years with Fort Wayne Community Schools and retired in 2010. She was a charter member of North Park Community Church and the church choir. Karen enjoyed Bible Study, watching TV, but the joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her children, Marc (Lisa) Johnson and Melissa (John) Helmsing; grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, and Joseph and Emelia Helmsing; her twin sister, Kay Bragalone; uncle, Albert Bragalone; daughter-in-law; Michelle Johnson; and sister-in-law, Patricia Dobbins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Keith Edward Johnson; son, Chad Johnson; and brothers, Robert J. Bragalone and James Bragalone.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Friday, November 22, 2024, at North Park Community Church, 7160 Flutter Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday, November 21, 2024, at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley Park, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Committal and Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to North Park Community Church.
