So very sorry to hear this news.  Our deepest condolences to LD and the entire family.  So many memories of Joyce and her family.  A most gracious and humble lady who made everyone feel at ease and smile and laugh whenever see was around you!  The world is missing an angel here on earth but is now in heaven.  

One story about Joyce that sticks in my mind is LD "complaining" to me about Joyce's free spirited driving in her little sports car and all the tickets she used to get.

I rent one of Joyce property and we've known Joyce for 4 years she was the most ki d easy goung landlord we've ever known ahe always got right to the point and was short and sweet when talking to her on the  phone we will miss joyce tremendously last i seen her was here in my living room i had tears in my eyes when I was told she passed away it won't be the same without u 

A lady with grace, kindness and a smile for everyone she met.

I’ll always remember Joyce’s thoughtfulness she showed our family upon our move to FW over 30 years ago. She arranged a tennis date for our 16 year old daughter at the time with her kind son, which she remembers well, thereby helping her in some small way with her difficult adjustment with her move from her friends in Geneva IL. Joyce was always most kind with her happy personality. 

My children and I were talking about Joyce, or Gigi as they refer to her.  We always loved to see her big smile and bright personality.  She always greeted  everyone with a big hug and made them feel special.  She was at every school event, graduation, birthday, prom, ect that any of her children or grandchildren were part of.  She was a true southern belle  and we will all miss her.  She loves the Lord and will be smiling down on her wonderful family from the heavens above.

I remember Joyce so fondly. We taught Sunday school together years ago. When my mother died, she so kindly said, "No one ever loves you like your mother." I think she knew that because she lived it.

I felt so fortunate to meet, know, and associate with Joyce.  We shared a great love of the game of Bridge.  She was extremely quick and eager to learn all the new concepts of the game.

I will truly miss sitting across from her at the Bridge table.  

Joyce was a very special lady who made you feel like she had known you forever even if had only been a few minutes. The graciousness that she exibited every time I was around her was true warmth. It was comforting all these years being so far away knowing how well she loved my sister as one of her own.  The grief of missing such a special woman is really tempered with the comfort of knowing she is face to face with Jesus and all the special memories over the years should be cherished. We will be praying for LD, John, Wendy, & Lee and families over the coming days, weeks, and months as they navigate this really tough road. We love you all!

We were new to Indiana and The Chapel where we had started going to church. We were hoping to join a home group where we could get to know some people. Joyce and LD were co- hosting a home group and they were the last ones on the list I had been given. I had called every home group hoping for us to be invited to one. I was giving up hope and feeling sad and alone. Each person I called  told me that their home group was full. I left a message on Joyce’s voice mail and within minutes I got a call back from her. She couldn’t have lifted my spirits higher.  We were loved and encouraged each week as we became a part of their home group for four years. Our faith in the Lord grew. Joyce would invite me over for lunch- but before we could eat she would have me join her in her basement riding a stationary bike. We laughed and enjoyed so many wonderful times. She loved to talk and find out what was going on in our lives. She will be greatly missed but I KNOW heaven is rejoicing!!!! 

I was fortunate to know Joyce for more than 40 years and there are too many memories to note! Joyce babysat me at her home when my parents traveled, kept me company at many away tennis tournaments for her & my mother’s tennis team when I was young, hosted a wedding shower for me where I will never forget her marriage advice, flew to Hilton Head for my wedding, and in recent years her grandson and my oldest son became fast friends and we were fortunate to watch many of their tennis matches. Her cheerful Southern voice, huge smile, love for her family and friends, and faithful heart are the attributes I will remember best. Miss you & love you Joyce!

I loved Gigi so much! I loved spending time with her at the lake and at basketball games. I adored her soft, southern voice, and how she told it like it was. This family is so close - if you know one, you know all.  Gigi was so loved, and she will be so missed.
