Johnny had a passion for animals, especially his dog, Fido.
He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Bennett; siblings, Duane (Holly) Nickell, Nickey (Paula) Nickell, and Ginger (Chris) Lindenberg; nephews, Ryan and Aaron Nickell; nieces, Tonie Burcham and Bailey Nickell; great-nephew, Ayden Lee Nickell; and great-niece, Ava Lee Nickell. He was preceded in death by his father, Bertal E. Nickell; and his nephew, Chris Burcham.
A funeral service to honor Johnny's life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 12, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. A calling will also take place on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven.
