JOHN E. KOHLMEYER, 92, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, in Fort Wayne. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a U.S. Army World War II veteran serving in the China Burma India Theater. John worked as a pharmacist for over 50 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the N.E. Indiana Pharmaceutical Association and an honorary member of the Concordia Education Foundation. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Martha M. Kohlmeyer of Fort Wayne; son, John Paul (Teresa Borneman) Kohlmeyer of Naperville, Ill.; daughters, Laura (Joe) Schuller of Mallard, Iowa, Judith (Paul) Strasen of Littleton, Colo. and Susan Kohlmeyer of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Megan (John) Sandala Schuller, Michael (Alison Knar) Schuller, Katherine (Michael) Haynes, Sarah (Peter) Moench Strasen, Karl Strasen, Kyle and Ryan Kohlmeyer, and Elise and Samuel Morin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lena Kohlmeyer; daughters, Kathryn Round and Mary Kohlmeyer; son-in-law, David Round; and sister, Dorothea Votaw. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 W. Jefferson, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Concordia Education Foundation for the Kathryn Kohlmeyer Round Scholarship Fund or Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
