John Daniel Kitch III

John Daniel Kitch III, age 51, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, May 21 at his residence. He was born April 11, 1973 to parents John D. Kitch Jr. and Sarah S. (Scheiman) Kitch. John graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1991, obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science from DePauw University in 1995, and earned his J.D. from Valparaiso Law School in 1998. He started his legal career with The Marion County Prosecutor's Office in Indianapolis and would later return to Fort Wayne to work in the Allen County Prosecutor's Office as a Deputy Prosecutor. In 2008, John was named Magistrate of Allen County Circuit Court where he proudly served until 2020. Over the years, John worked in private practice and the Allen County Public Defender's Office. Most recently, John was working as a Deputy Prosecutor in the Whitley County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Outside of his legal career, John possessed a sharp wit and unique perspective that he imparted on those fortunate to know him well. He had a delightful dry sense of humor and way of viewing the world. He was a voracious reader, music enthusiast, and longtime frustrated golfer. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and was extraordinarily proud of his daughters Ashley and Ava. John is survived by a loving family including his former wife, Cassie; daughters, Ashley (Christain) and Ava; father, John D. Kitch, Jr.; brothers, Mike (Leslie) and Bill (Ashlie). He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah (Scheiman) Kitch; and sister, Elizabeth Johnson. John was a deeply beloved father, uncle, cousin, brother, son, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all.
