Joan C. Fisher 77, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully October 24, 2016 at her home after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born in Delphos, Ohio March 6, 1939. She was the daughter of Herman T. and Theresia (Allemeier) Dienstberger. She was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. Joan was co-owner of Dave's Music Den for 30 years and a church organist for over 60 years. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and a PEO. Joan enjoyed camping, gardening, cooking, and most importantly spending time with her family. Her survivors include children Mark (Becky) Fisher of Fort Wayne, James (Jennifer) Fisher of Albion, Bethany (Jeff) Wind of Fort Wayne, and Theresa (Jason) Haner of Leo, grandchildren Andrew Fisher, Melissa Fisher, Amy (Corey) Bowers, Geoffrey (Julia) Ellingwood, Ilyssa Haner, Jessica Fisher, Jacob Haner, Katie (Jon) Lubkert, Jeremy Wind, great-grandchildren Kaitlin Fisher, Ayden Ellingwood, Mila and Tyler Lubkert. She is also survived by long-time companion Gary Poling. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Earl Dienstberger, and husband Thomas F. Fisher. Visitation is Thursday October 27 from 2-8 p.m Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. A service to celebrate Joan's life will be Friday October 28 at 11:00 am St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 2305 Goshen Rd, Fort Wayne, with 1 hour visitation prior to the service.
