Jerry L. Hartman, 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011 at his home. He was born on July 25, 1944 in Bryan, Ohio to the late Emory and Jacalyn Hartman. He retired from Strahm’s as a finish carpenter. He was active in the Carpenter Union # 232 and the Eagles #248. He enjoyed golfing, his yard activities, and wood-working.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Perl of Fort Wayne; children, Scott (Beth) Hartman of Indianapolis, Kathy (Jeff) Miller of Columbia City; siblings, Bill and Beverly of Ohio; and 3 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, with calling one hour prior with Pastor Brenda Ginder officiating. Viewing hours will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allen County SPCA or the Officer Down Memorial Program.
