Jean L Gibson

Jean L. Gibson, 94, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Park Place Senior Living in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Gibson was born on June 1, 1924 in Payne, OH to Harl and Estelle (Myers) Sitcler. Jean graduated from Payne High School. On November 17, 1944, she married Elmo Gibson in Ohio. Jean was a homemaker and loved to cook. She and her husband together were members of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. She enjoyed volunteering at the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. Survivors include her sisters, Christine Timbrook and Shirley Barbeau both of OH, her family friend, Lloyd Sparks of Fort Wayne, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son and daughter, and sisters; Madeline Gideon, Maxine Steibling, Betty Landrie, Nancy Sitcler, Helen Whiteman, and Sharon Willet. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:30am with calling one hour prior from 9:30am-10:30am at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Burial will take place at 12:00pm at Lehman Cemetery in Payne, Ohio.
