James J Glaser

James J. "Jim" Glaser, 78, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Jim worked as a firefighter with the City of Fort Wayne for 25 years, retiring in 1988. He was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was a member of St. Joe Athletic Club and 20 year club member - Fort Wayne Firefighters. Jim loved to hunt, fish, golf, play cards, and cook. He enjoyed family trips to Florida and Canada. Jim and Sharon loved going to Jimmerson Lake with family and friends for over 30 years. They were also snow birds at the villages in Florida. Jim also loved all sports and history. He was a loving family man and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sharon R. Glaser of Fort Wayne; three children, Julie Yarde of Fremont, IN, Daniel Glaser of Fort Wayne, and Janice (Kenneth) Fosnaugh of New Haven, IN; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren with two on the way. Jim was preceded in death by father, Edward Glaser; mother, Catherine Glaser; siblings, Edward Glaser, Carolyn Buckmaster, and Leonard Glaser. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am, Friday, September 15, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Road with Fr. Daniel Scheidt officiating with an hour calling prior to the Mass. Calling at - D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Thursday, September 14, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 3:30 pm at D.O.
