James Leon Davis, 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Born October 1, 1948 in Spangler, PA, he was a son of the late James and Helen (Adams) Davis. James was a graduate of Cambria Heights High School and upon graduation attended Allegheny Tech. He was a major appliance service technician with GE for over 25 years, from which he retired. James treasured his family and grandchildren and always put his family first. He was fond of the outdoors and enjoyed many activities including; sports, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time at the lake.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay (West) Davis of Fort Wayne; children, Teresa (David) Corner of Leesburg, IN., Kimberly (Patrick) Leffers of Albion, IN., and Martin (Heather) Davis of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Cody, Abbi, Sarah, Luke, Levi, Danny, Naomi Leffers and Sydney Lawler; one great grandson,
Mason; six siblings, Pat (Madeleine) Davis of Valparaiso, IN., Charles (Mary) Davis of Patton, PA., Denise (Stricky) Strittmatter of Patton, PA., Joe (Nancy) Davis of Ball Ground, GA., Sally (Bob) Johnson of Patton, PA., and Sam Davis of Clearfield, PA.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Martin Davis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 1500 W. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 2-6pm at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
