James John “JC” Carey, 61, of Auburn, IN, passed away December 9, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born January 30, 1963 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of the late John C. and Judith A. Carey, whom survives. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1981.
James was a forklift operator for Walmart for 16 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 414.
He enjoyed staying busy, working hard and playing hard. Whether riding his Harley or driving his Corvette, he loved a good adventure. Swimming was another one of his favorite things, especially with his grandchildren. He loved board games and was known carry spare dice around with him, in case anyone might want to play a round of Farkle. His laughter and smile are already missed by many.
James is survived by his mother, Judith Carey; daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle Renee and Jesse Goodyear of Albion, IN; grandchildren, Ryker, Ayva and Nora Goodyear; and brother, Jeffrey J. Carey. He is also survived by Jeff’s children, Sunshine, Dakota and Taylor; and Judson’s son, Zane Carey.
He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Carey; and brothers, Jerome Carey and Judson J. Carey.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Homes, Pine Valley Park, 1320 E. Dupont Road Fort Wayne, IN. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
