Irwin Plank, 90, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Harlan, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Born on November 13, 1926 in Howard County, Ind., he was a son of the late George and Fanny (Hershberger) Plank. Irwin was a mechanical contractor for Irwin’s Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning for over 25 years, from which he retired. He prepared taxes on a part-time basis and was also a member of Maplewood Mennonite Church. Irwin enjoyed flying his own aircraft, driving and eating at Wendy’s. He treasured his family and grandchildren and will be missed greatly. He is survived by his children, Mike (Nancy) Plank of Spencerville, Terri (Jim) Brenneman of Goshen, and Audrey Wells of Woodburn; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Ella Stutzman of Humboldt, Irma (Dan) Diener of Lovington IL, and Sarah Plank of Wimauma, FL; and sister-in-law, Roberta Plank of Goshen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Plank; brothers, John and David Plank, and son-in-law, Jeffrey Wells. Memorial Service will be 3pm on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Maplewood Mennonite Church, 4129 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling from 12:30pm – 2:30pm prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date at Yaggy Cemetery, Grabill. Memorials may be made to Maplewood Mennonite Church.
