Henry J. Brandt

HENRY J. BRANDT, 83, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Lutheran Life Villages. Born Jan. 29, 1930, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Henry W. and Martha Brandt. He retired in 1989 as an electrical engineer from Magnavox after 37 years of service. He was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church - where he served in various capacities including serving on the Board of Elders for 40 years; a 1948 South Side High School graduate; and a 1952 Purdue Univerisity graduate. Surviving are his wife, Lucille M. (Schmidt) Brandt; sister, Hilda (Fred) Hoham of Portage, Ind.; nieces, nephews, cousins, including cousin, Evelyn D. Hoham of Fort Wayne, and godchildren. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, 2313 S. Hanna St., with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Douglas Punke and the Rev. Michael Wakeland officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Burial in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
