Helen I. O’Neal, 85, of Ft. Wayne, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Hospice Home. Born Dec. 30, 1926 in Ft. Wayne, she retired in 1989 after 34 ½ years with Magnavox. She was actively involved in Bethlehem Lutheran Church; volunteered and worked at St. Joseph Hospital. She also volunteered at Community Food Harvest. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughter, Debra (Jim) Rose, of Ft. Wayne; son, Howard O’Neal, of Ft. Wayne; longtime companion and friend, Marvin Fisher, of Ft. Wayne; 7 grandchildren, Lori (Jeff) Franke, Kim (Chad) Diehm, Jami (Ryan) O’Shaughnessey, Pete (Nitalya) Duran, Andy Duran, Cody O’Neal and Haley O’Neal and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven O’Neal, in 1971; daughter, Sharon Norris, in 2000; sister, Betty Scott and parents, Howard and Imogene White. Funeral Service is 11:00am Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 S. Anthony Blvd. with calling one hour prior. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Rd. Chapel, 6424 Winchester Rd. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
