Life Villages. Born May 19, 1920, in Fort Wayne, she was employed at Lincoln
National Life, as a clerk for 39 years. She retired in 1983. She was a
Salutatorian of Concordia Lutheran High School Class of 1938. She was a member
of Emmaus Lutheran Church since 1934, and of Emmaus Ladies Aid. She was also a
member of Lutheran Women Missionary League, the Federation of Lutheran Women, Loyal Service Club, Lincs
and Emmanuel Crafter and Quilters. Survivng are her daughter, Cindy L. (Eric)
Hesterman of Safety Harbor, Fla.; sister, Ruth Nicolet of Churubusco;
granddaughter, Ashley A. Hesterman of Safety Harbor, Fla.; and several nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Henry Gunkler;
father, William C. Dreyer; and mother, Bertha L. Kruse Dreyer and sister Norma Howard. Service is 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at Lutheran Life Villages Chapel, with visitation one
hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.
22, 2011, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel. Burial
at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran
Life Villages Foundation, or Concordia Theological Seminary.
