HAROLD N. LEHMAN, 89, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, in Ithaca, N.Y. Born Aug. 12, 1922, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Norman Lehman and Kathryn E. (Hein) Lehman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served on the U.S.S. Hanna 449 Destroyer Escort during World War II; and was a toolmaker/manager at G.E. Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1984. He was a 60 year member of Peace Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion. Surviving are his son, Douglas Miller (Joni Wood) Lehman of Fort Wayne; daughter, Amy J. (Joe) Mareane of Ithaca, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Matthew, Mark and Jon Mareane, all of Ithaca, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Mary L. Miller of New Haven; two nephews, Steve (Tracy) Miller of Ossian and Jeff (Karen) Miller of Fishers; and one niece, Laura (Greg) Blevins of Lilburn, Ga. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris E. (Miller) Lehman, in February of 2010. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Peace Lutheran Church, with calling one hour prior.
