Harold H. Heine

Harold H. Heine, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011. He was born on July 15, 1925 in St. Mary’s, OH to the late Oscar and Opal (McKee) Heine. Harold was the beloved husband of Helen R. (Bubb) Heine to whom he had been married for 64 years. He retired from Fruehauf Trailer Corp in 1986 after 40 years. He served in the Army and Air Force during WW II and Korea. He was awarded the Combat Badge Bronze Star. He held memberships at American Legion Posts 241 and 296. He was an active member at Saint Therese Catholic Church, was proud to serve at the Fort Wayen soup kitchen and the South Side Seniors. He was a devoted father and loving grandfather. He loved being with his family and was proud of his 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Surviving family include his wife, Helen; children, Susan Heine of Forest Park, IL, Karen J. (Chuck Schroeder) Heine of Fort Wayne, Janice Heine Bryan of Durango, CO, Tom (Missy) Heine of Martinsville, IN; brother, Wayne Heine of Orange, CA; sister-in-law, Betty Andrews; 4 grandchildren, Alyssa (Todd) Grantham, Bryan (Tiffany) Heine, Daniel Schroeder, Andrea (Zach) Donahue; and 4 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior to services. Visitation hours will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. A rosary will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday. A sharing time of personal memories will begin at 7:00 pm also on Tuesday evening. Preferred memorials may be made to St. Therese Catholic School, St. Therese Catholic Church-Masses, or Southern Care Hospice. Burial will take place at Catholic Cemetery.
