Gloria Ann Baumgartner

Gloria Baumgartner, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Orchard Pointe Healthcare. She was born on April 4, 1931 to the late Marion and Virginia Caldwell. Gloria married Robert L. Baumgartner, who remained her devoted husband for 56 years prior to his passing. Together, they raised three boys. Besides raising their children and attending numerous sports and activities, Gloria spent her many working years serving others by teaching at their church nursery, working as director for the American Cancer Society, and then as Community Relations Director of Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne before officially retiring. She then started volunteering her time in hospice care. Gloria leaves behind her sons, Randy (Peg) Baumgartner, Jay (Sheri) Baumgartner, and Eric (Michelle) Baumgartner; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Kalyn), Kayla, Liza (Dave), Hope (Jake), Steven (Maddy), Erika, and Sam; and eight great-grandchildren, Riley, Kamryn, Teagan, Parker, Piper, Noah, Eli, Tenley, and a baby boy on the way. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Lindenwood Cemetery 2324 West Main Street Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808. Immediately after the burial the family will host a lunch at The Cove located at Covington Creek Condominiums.
