Geraldine Irene Cook

Geraldine “Gerri” Irene Cook, 95, passed away July 21, 2023, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born November 8, 1927, in Fort Wayne, IN, the daughter of William Irven and Gerturde R. Blosser. Gerri graduated from South Side High School in 1946.

She retired from Fort Wayne Community Schools after 24 years of service in 1992, and a volunteer at the Fort Wayne Community Center for 21 years. Gerri was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards.

Gerri was a former member of Forest Park United Methodist Church.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Dave Cook, Sue Cook Ringle, Denny Cook, and Doug Cook, all of Fort Wayne, IN; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Arthur “Art” C. Cook, in 1980, siblings, Walter Blosser, Irene Vining, Myrtle Stephan, Agnes Burke, Francis Williams, Gerald Blosser, one grandson and two great grandsons.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday July 31, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home 1140 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 3-7 pm Sunday July 30, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana or American Heart Association.
