Gerald "Goodie" C. Goodwin

Gerald C."Goodie" “Gerry” Goodwin, 88, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Goodie was the son of the late Charles and Stella Goodwin. He graduated from South Side High School and was on its basketball and track teams. He earned his bachelors degree from Ball State University. While at Ball State, Goodie was on its basketball and track teams. He served as past president for the Indianapolis Adjusters Association and the Indiana State Adjusters Association. Goodie worked for American States Insurance Company in Indianapolis prior to working in the legal department at Medical Protective Company in Fort Wayne. Surviving are his children, G. Gregory (Julie) Goodwin of Fort Wayne, Angela (Brad) Alger of Leo; grandchildren, Bethany (Nicholas) Colgrove, Andrew (Brittany) Goodwin, Krysta Alger, Zachary (Micah) Goodwin, Brandon Alger, Emily (Alex) Lehman; seven great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Gail (Barb) Goodwin of Wheaton, IL; and nephews, Charles Turner, Dan Turner. Goodie was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Turner. Service is 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2018 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling from 11:00 am until the service. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission or Gideon's International.
