George R Wise

GEORGE ROBERT WISE, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at Lutheran Life Villages. He was born on Oct. 7, 1928, in Fayette County, PA. He served honorably in both the U.S. Navy and Army, and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He worked as an accountant at General Electric, retiring in 1989, and prepared taxes in his later years.

Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Wise; sons, Daniel (Carol) Wise and Kenneth (Sue) Wise; stepdaughter, Lynda Orr; stepson, Michael Kuehn; grandchildren, Matthew Wise, Amy Wise, Catherine Wise, and Heidi Orr; sister, Mary Ainsley; brother, Thomas (Mary) Wise; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian (Bangert) Wise; and eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne (IN 46815), with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46819). Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church.
