Gary Lee Anders, age 73, of New Haven, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born December 30, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Ernest Ray and Rose (née Cornett) Anders. Gary loved the road and spent his career as a truck driver, retiring in 2015 from Republic Services. During his career he also drove for OmniSource and Ryder.
Gary was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods with his dog, cutting wood. He could also be found playing guitar and watching Jeff Gordon race NASCAR and sports, especially Notre Dame football but cherished the time spent with family and friends the most. He had a vibrant, outgoing personality and knew no stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol (née Harvey) Anders; children, Brian (Jennifer Biaz) Anders and Tonya Anders; grandchildren, Grant, Alyvia, Isiah, and Jonah Anders; and great-grandson, Asher Anders; siblings, Susie Anders and Michael Anders; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Anders.
Funeral Service is 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with calling two hours prior. Interment at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, IN.
