Evelyn A. Stech

Evelyn A. Stech, 64, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully at home January 20, 2014. She was born on March 16, 1949 in Fort Wayne, to the late Edward and Ruth (Osmun) Lewis. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Waynedale Baptist Church where she was involved in Candlelighter’s Sunday School Class; Walk, Talk & Coffee, and the Senior Joy Group. “Her life was dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who loved her dearly.” Surviving family include her husband of 49 years, sweetheart for 53, Errol F. Stech; children, Errol L. (Tina) Stech, Ken M. (Michele) Stech, Tim D. (Terri) Stech, Kandy J. White, Amy L. (Steven) Gruss; grandchildren, Steven, Tessa, Matthew, Zachary, Tawni, Katie, Miah, Nicole, Jackson, Joseph, Kelly, Lillyan, Jennifer, Jake, Isaac; siblings, Irene Sefton, Lois Shackels, Jim Lewis, Jeffrey Lewis, and Edward Lewis. She was preceded in passing by her parents and siblings, Barb Whitesell and Tom Lemons. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Waynedale Baptist Church, 633 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. A private burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Visiting Nurse. Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals are handling arrangements.
