Evelyn Miller

Evelyn Miller, 97, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. She was born on March 11, 1925 in Fort Wayne to the late Howard and Anna Walbolt. Evelyn was a 1943 Graduate of Leo High School. On March 28, 1945 in Saint Louis, she married LaMoine “Peach” Miller. He preceded her in death in 2007. Mrs. Miller worked for a short time at Lincoln Life in Fort Wayne. She then went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, camping, boating and fishing with her family. Evelyn was also an avid Euchre player. She is survived by her children, Terry (Rosie) Miller, Jackie (Joe) Walker, Karen (Dave) Weber, Gene (Lisa) Miller and Dawn (Brian) Rosbrugh; 17 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Carolyn Bollier; and sisters, Virginia McNiece and Joan Saalfrank. A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will take place Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11 AM at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 Saint Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
