Esther Harmeyer

ESTHER H. HARMEYER, 92, of Fort Wayne, was called to eternal life by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011. She passed away peacefully at home. Born July 15, 1919, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Marie Meyer. She married Lester H. Harmeyer on July 15, 1938; he preceded her in death in 1996. She was a charter and active member of Praise Lutheran Church. Surviving are her sons, William (Janice) Harmeyer, Frederick (Loretta) Harmeyer and Robert (Julie) Harmeyer; daughters, Suzanne (Gary) Powell, Patricia (Alan) Duncan and Cheryl (Michael) Campati; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar and Karl Meyer; and sister, Dorothy Brimeyer. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Paul Dancy and the Rev. James Cotter officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 7, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
