Ernest E. Evans Jr.

Ernest E. Evans Jr., 84, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at his home in Fort Wayne, IN. surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Marion, IN, to the late Ernest E and Nellousie Evans Sr. Ernest graduated from Marion High School in 1951, Indiana University in 1955 and IU Law School in1961. He worked at Midwest United Life Insurance Company for 1970-1984 and retired in 1998 as V.P. Counsel with Three Rivers Title Company after 15 yrs of service. He was a devoted and passionate member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Ernest's memberships also include former President of Serra Club - 1993-1994; Retired Indiana Bar Association member; Past President of Fort Wayne Planning Commission; Former member of Allen County and Fort Wayne Police Reserve; Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and recently awarded as a lifetime member of the Father Solanus Casey Vocation Society. Surviving are his children Ernest E. Evans, III of Fort Wayne, IN; Eric Evans of Bloomington, IN; Elaine Evans Forsythe of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Megan (Kevin) Myers of Roslyn, PA; Patrick Forsythe of .Mt. Prospect, IL and a great-granddaughter, Mable Elizabeth Myers . Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth A. Evans, and a sister Phyllis Haupt. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am, Friday August 17, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church with calling one hour prior. Calling at also Thursday August 16, 2018 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. with a Rosary at 4:30pm at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road.
