Emma Jean Martin, 93, passed away July 11, 2024, at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born March 16, 1931 in Starkville, Mississippi, the daughter of Morris and Juanita Miner. Emma worked in the Food Service Department at the Fort Wayne Developmental Center with 35 years of dedicated service. She retired in 1999. Emma loved being outdoors, tending to her garden and flowers.
Emma is survived by her daughter, Christine Easterly; grandsons, Anthony Easterly, Leonard Easterly; and a host of great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces, Christine Williams, Paulina (Warren) Washington, and Deanna Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Calvin C. Martin; sisters, Samella Outlaw, Diane Williams; and her brother, Eugene Outlaw.
Funeral Service will be 12:30 pm Tuesday July 23, 2024 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with calling one hour prior. Burial and Committal immediately following at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
