Ellis Ray Chaffin, 63, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born January 15, 1954, in Richwood, WV, he was a son of the late Herbert and Rose (Boley) Chaffin. Ellis was a mechanic with Midas for 15 years. He was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bird watching. Ellis enjoyed helping people and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Ellisha Chaffin of Churubusco, Brian Chaffin of Churubusco, and Ellis Chaffin Jr. of Fort Wayne; brothers, Roger Chaffin of Woodburn, Jackie Chaffin of Columbia City, Larry (Dee) Chaffin of Fort Wayne, and Herbert (Judy) Chaffin of Fenwick, WV; and former wife and mother of his children, Angie Chaffin of Churubusco. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sheri Lynn Chaffin. Memorial Service will be 11:00am on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Advantage Funeral Home, 2403 E.
