Elizabeth M. “Bette” Kendall, 98, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Bette was born in South Haven, Michigan on September 8, 1925, daughter of the late Reverend Eugene H. and Renata B. (Schlick) Pfeiffer. Bette’s strong faith was evident to all who knew her. She continued studying the scriptures and sharing what she learned up until the very end. She loved her family and friends and is remembered for her giving and joyful spirit. She enjoyed music serving as church organist and choir director in her earlier years. She also enjoyed playing her harp. She was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. She retired from IPFW having worked as a secretary in several departments. Surviving family include her daughter Karen (James) Martin; grandchildren, Ian (Megan) Troue, Sarah (Steve) Terrell, Beth (Ryan) Perkins, Abigail (Jeff) Morris, great grandchildren, Jake Younger, Benjamin Terrell, Eliza Terrell, Elliott Perkins, Ashton Martin, Libby Perkins, Ryker Morris, Briggston Morris, Roemer Morris, Bleu Morris; nieces and nephews, Marcia Pick, Mary Elizabeth Meier, Craig Pfeiffer, William Pfeiffer, Timothy Pfeiffer, and Jonathan Pfeiffer; sister in law, Mary Pfeiffer. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her first husband, Roemer H. Troue; husband, Robert C. Kendall; son, Dwight A. Troue; and brothers, Eugene L. Pfeiffer, William F. Pfeiffer, and Reverend John D. Pfeiffer. Memorial service will be Saturday, November 4, 2023, 1:00 pm at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2131 Getz Road, Fort Wayne with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior. Inurnment will be in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Department at St. Michael Lutheran Church.
