Elizabeth A. Hilker, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her home. She was born February 21, 1925 in Lexington, Kentucky, the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Rathfon) Grube. She worked for 40 years as a registered nurse, retiring from Magnovox as an industrial nurse. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and a member of the Franciscan Secular Order. Surviving are her daughters, Elizabeth (Tom) Freistroffer, Erin (Jim) Gigli, and Elaine A. (John) Cooper, all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Ben (Alison) Freistroffer, Erin (Thomas) McGuire, Emily (Sam Ladowski) Freistroffer, Thomas Freistroffer, Jr., Kathleen Cooper, Daniel Cooper, Bridgette Cooper, and Megan Cooper; and great grandchildren Adele, Darcy, Thomas, and Henry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman H. “Ham” Hilker in 1999. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with a rosary service at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church, St. Therese Little Flower Theater, or masses.
