Elizabeth “Betty” Rogers, 100, of Fort Wayne passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018. She was born on June 24, 1917 in Newburn, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Phillip and Bertha (Rex) Meihls. She worked at home raising her family and was a member at Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene. She will be remembered as a person who always had a sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her large family. Surviving family include her children, Bob (Sue) Rogers, Gloria (Bill) Sternberger, Jerry (Martha) Rogers, Susie (Kenny) Lude, Jim (Coleen) Rogers, Steve Rogers, Jovetta "Joie" (Loren) Means, Barb (Mike) Hungerford, Doug Rogers, Becky (Bob) Campbell, Danny Rogers; 36 grandchildren, 110 great grandchildren, 39 great great grandchildren; and half-brother, Tommy York. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her son, Terry Rogers; grandsons, Eric Bruot and Greg Hungerford; son-in-law, Charles Sanderson; and half-brother, Arthur York. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 3-7 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Anne Home, Fort Wayne or Elmhurst Church of the Nazarene.
