Elizabeth 'Beth' Berndt, age 56 passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. She was born March 25, 1967 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Albert and Rosa (née Gibson) Berndt. Beth was a vibrant woman, with an adventurous spirit, contagious laugh, quick wit and stubborn streak which she passed on to her son, Josh. She loved garage saleing, antiquing, and travel, especially to Tippy Dam in the Upper Peninsula, horseback riding, hiking, and relaxing at the lakes. Her creative side was expressed through Diamond Art and crafting. Holidays were important to Beth, shooting off fireworks on the 4th, trick-or-treating at Halloween, or celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas; but time spent with family, friends and her beloved pets is what she cherished the most. Beth had a generous heart, best displayed in her work with children at the YMCA; she never knew a stranger and always willing to help all in need. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister that will be greatly missed.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Joshua (Aleksandrea Rice) Berndt; grandson, William Lee Berndt; siblings, Brenda Lovell, Wanda Berndt, Junnet Rollins, Ronald (Susan) Berndt, and Billy Berndt; and furbabies, Sparky and Whiskers. She was preceded in death by longtime companion, Timothy Kleinhans; sister, Monica Kay Berndt; brother, Richard Gene Berndt; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Friday, August 4, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.
