Edna L. DeWitt, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. She was born June 6, 1924 in Anderson, IN to the late George F. and Bertha F. (Everetts) Hutson. She worked for Fort Wayne Window Cleaning, Old Fort Meyer’s Truck Stop, Archway Bakery, and Hilton Hotel at Baer Field. She was a member of the NRA and enjoyed donating blood. She was also very proud of her Cherokee indian hertitage. She is survived children, Twyla (finace Benny Ostra) Whitesel of Union City, IN, Linda (Terry Simpson) Wilson of Ft. Wayne, Theresa (Mark) Lott of North Manchester, Colleen (Miles) Barva of Columbia City, Alice (Richard) Barva Columbia City, Eugene (Ingrid) Owens, Jr. of Kentucky, Betty Lou (Jerry) Nottingham of Union City, IN, Jack Stier of Washington, Dave (Doris) Stier of Ft. wayne, Sue Brockman of Ft. Wayne, Mike (Dorothy) Stier of Bradenton, FL, Eugene Stier of Ft. Wayne, daughter in law, Donna Stier of New Haven; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Donald DeWitt in 1983 and Raymond B. Stier in 1967; multiple step children; grandson, Joseph H. Wilson, Jr., and four sisters.
Funeral service is Monday, November 28, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals; 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN with calling one hour prior. Visitation is on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2 to 6 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Hospice or Donor’s Choice.
