Dorothy Ann Wiegman, 102, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023 surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born on April 17, 1921 in Fort Wayne, where she has resided her whole life. She grew up on the County Farm in Allen County and attended North Side High School. She met her future husband, Harold, when she was 15 and they were together until his death in 1988. Family was very important to Dorothy and her caring and loving attitude while raising their four children was evident. Dorothy worked at GE during the war and when Harold came home, she stayed at home raising her children. She then went to work for W&Ds and LS Ayres in the drapery department, retiring in 1983. Anyone who knew Dorothy knew that she had a zest for life. Whether it was having parties, playing euchre at any given chance or being with family and friends: she loved life. Dorothy was honored last year at VFW #857 as their oldest living member. Her beautiful smile reflected the enjoyment she found in everything. There was not a person she met that didn’t become her friend. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Helen (Mike) Baugh; son, Bill (Cheryl) Wiegman; grandchildren, Chris Boedeker, Julie (Robert) Gerovski, Laurie (Andy Johnson) Gremore, Michele (Jesse Hester) Norris, Stephanie (Scott) Woosley, Angela Young, Nicole (Joel) Henline, Anita (Cody) Raypole, Andy (Jenney) Baugh, Tony (Laura) Baugh, Jamie (Lisa Messina) Baugh; 18 great grandchildren; and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; daughters, Anita Boedeker, Ruth Basset; granddaughter, Cari Baugh; great grandsons, Austin Woosley and Jeremy Hodge, and great granddaughter, Rylee Shull.
