Obituary of Dorothy Mae Littlejohn
Dorothy Littlejohn, 93, passed away on Thursday, May 4 surrounded. By family and under the compassionate care of Promedica Hospice and the staff of Lincolnshire Place. Dottie was born in Paulding, Ohio on May, 1929 She was the youngest girl of the 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls) of Anna and Joseph Wilhelm. She had fond memories of growing up in Paulding which included having her grandmother, who only spoke German, Living at home with them. She married her high school sweetheart, Justus (Bud) Littlejohn. They had two children, Sheryl and Justus (Ed), 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Unfortunately, Bud passed away at a very young age (48) and Dottie continued to work at General Telephone in Fort Wayne. After retiring, she met and married Fenwick Hill. That union expanded her family by Fenwicks’s 4 children and several grandchildren. Dottie and Fenwick moved to Leesburg, Florida and spent the next 30 years traveling around the country (even to Alaska) in their motor home. The made it to 49 of the 50 states and would have hit all 50 if Fenwick could have made the motor home seaworthy! After Fenwicks’s death in November of 2014, Dottie moved back to Fort Wayne to be closer to family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and her brother Karl Wilhelm. A memorial service for her immediate family as held and she was laid to rest beside Bud at Lindenwood Cemetery. She loved to crochet, garden and was a great cook. She would say she has had a rich, fulfilling, and blessed life. She will be missed. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.sloanandsonsfuneralhome.com for the Littlejohn family.
