Dorotha R. Ransbottom

Dorotha R. Ransbottom, 90, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Life’s Journey of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born October 17, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clifford L. and Waneta M Knepper.

Dorotha was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, and retired in 1996 from Lincoln National Life Insurance with 36 years of service. She loved golfing with family, summers at the lake, and visiting with grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren. She also had a passion for a good game of canasta and euchre, as well as planting flower gardens.

Dorotha is survived by her children, Dan Ransbottom of Chicago, IL, Mike Ransbottom of Syracuse, IN, Jodi Hogan of Plainfield, IN; sister, Sandra Beauchot of Fort Wayne, IN; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Maurice “Duke” Ransbottom; brothers, Ronald and Warren Knepper; sister, Judith Terrien; and grandson, Dan Ransbottom Jr.

A funeral service to honor Dorotha's life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 9:00 am, 2 hours prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
