Donna married Donald L. Short in August of 1955, and they had three children, Steven (Cheryl) Short, Douglas (Joan) Short, and Debra (Jeb) Bartley, who survive. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her younger sister, Janice (Arlon) Bauman. In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Don; her son, Steven; and her sister, Marilyn (Deahl).
After Donna graduated from Leo High School in 1953, she was employed at General Electric. She worked alongside her husband at their farm in Archbold, Ohio, until 1960. After taking a hiatus to be a stay-at-home mother for a few years, she returned to the workplace and was employed by East Allen County Schools until her retirement in 1995. Donna was an active member of Grabill Missionary Church and served her family, church, and community by sharing her skills in cooking, baking, quilting, and sewing. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed extensive traveling through the years.
In respect of the Christmas holiday, the burial and memorial services will be private. Donations and memorials in Donna's honor may be directed to Grabill Missionary Church.
