Don Snyder, 72, passed away on September 2, 2024, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born on October 29, 1951, Don was known for his hardworking, loving, and sentimental nature, always speaking his feelings and leaving a lasting impression on those around him.
A graduate of North Side High School, Don embarked on a fulfilling career as a master carpenter. Over the years, he worked with various construction companies. Most recently, retiring as Superintendent for Fetters Construction after almost 20 years, where his dedication and skill were highly valued.
Spiritually inclined, Don started each day with the Lord's Prayer, seeking guidance and strength in his daily endeavors.
He was a man of many passions, including playing guitar, listening to live music, and enjoying time at the lake driving his boat. An avid sports fan, Don never missed a New York Mets or Indiana University basketball game. His love for flowers, inherited from his mother, Izzy, and his regular walks and bike rides with his wife, Kelly, were sources of joy and relaxation.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kelly, his children Gabe (Carisa) Snyder, Sarah (Gabe) Ortiz, Annie (Dominic) Ortiz, Rico (Malorie) Martinez, and Jacob Snyder. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren, with one more expected in October, and one great-grandson. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Elizabeth (Izzy) Snyder, and his brother, Ron Snyder.
A private celebration of life will be held in his honor. Don will be deeply missed. His memory and legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
