Major Donald K. Miller, Ret., 96, went to be with his heavenly family January 6, 2021. He was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. At 17, he became a pilot in WWII, and was attached to the “75th Fighter Squadron” in China, Burma, and India Theater. It was one of the squadrons that became known as the “Flying Tigers.” He retired from two careers. After 22 years in the Air Force, he moved to Fort Wayne and retired from Joselyn Stainless Steel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; daughter, Dona (Jerry) Kelker; and son, Randy A. Miller. Surviving are his daughter, Mary (Carl) Straley; son, Ron (Caroline) Miller; daughter-in-law, Nan (Randy) Miller; ten grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
