Donald D. Hobbs

Donald D. Hobbs, 77, of Ossian passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011. He was born on December 1, 1933 in Pleasant Hill, IL to the late Leo D. and Minnie “Opal” (Moyer) Hobbs. He retired after 30 years of service from the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post #241. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Surviving relatives include his wife of 52 years, Gladys (Williams) Hobbs of Ossian; daughters, Cheryl (John) Morgan of Ft. Wayne, Susan (Rod) (Weaver) Abbott of Ft. Wayne, Shelly Scott of Ossian; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kathleen (Jim) Leeds of Pleasant Hill, IL, Jerry (Lu) Hobbs of Fairfield Glad, TN, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 10:30 on February 4, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling hours also from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
