Donald H. Cochran Sr., 81, passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on August 17, 2018. Donald was born April 2, 1937 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of the late Raymond and Margaret Cochran. Donald retired after 20 years of service at the Fort Wayne Fire Department, serving many different roles during his service, one of which was the Chief of Arson Investigation. He retired for a second time from the City of Fort Wayne from Neighborhood Code Enforcement. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their spare time. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Arcola, and Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Marsha Cochran; children, Joseph (Dorothy) Cochran, Cynthia (Jay) Hursh, Monica (Bob) Buescher, Donald (Mindy) Cochran Jr.; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kim Cochran. He was preceded in death by his son John Cochran in 2016; and two brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10AM with calling 1 hour prior at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 12305 Arcola Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46818. Visitation will take place from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road., Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Rosary service will be held at 7:30PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Arcola, or the Firefighters Museum.
