David Lee Thieme 62, of Fort Wayne passed away peacefully at his home Monday April 30, 2018. Born December 16, 1955 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Richard and Theresa (Ripberger) Thieme. He attended North Side High School. During his early years, David traveled, spending time in Italy and eventually establishing a home in Hawaii. He was a talented self-employed carpenter and his hobbies were woodworking/crafts. He very much enjoyed family camping, cookouts, cooking breakfast for family and friends, spending time with his grandchildren Quentin and Allison. He was also looking forward to the birth of a new grandchild.
He is survived by 2 sons Giovanni (Brandi) Thieme, Victor Thieme, daughter Naomi (Rick) Appel, grandson Quentin Thieme, granddaughter Allison and Karen (Thieme) Albrecht. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Tesah Thieme and the mother of his grandchildren, Jenna England.
He is also survived by his mother, Theresa Thieme of Kendallville, 3 brothers Steven (Debbie) Thieme, Randy (Cindy) Thieme, both of Fort Wayne, and Brian (Sarah) Thieme of Columbia, Mo.; three sisters, Debra (Evan) Leinker of Churubusco, Janet Cross and Sandra (Steven) Peterink, both of Kendallville, he was also preceded in death by father, Richard Thieme of Kendallville.
Memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Mungovan Simple (2114 S. Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802) with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Victor Thieme, Giovanni Thieme and Naomi Appel.
